Are you ready to be a homeowner?

Home ownership does offer advantages over renting. However, you'll want to ask yourself a few questions first before taking the next step of purchasing a home:

• Will an employment offer/life change require you to move? If in the near future you might be moving due to your employment or other life changes, you will want to consider the additional time and efforts involved in selling your home in order to move.


• Are you ready to have more responsibilities and obligations as a homeowner? You will now be responsible for yard care, leaking faucets and air conditioning units that need repaired. Will you miss the ability to call the landlord for repairs?


• Do you want a yard with a garden space, the freedom to decorate and paint your living space, have storage space such as a garage and/or live in a neighborhood or have some land? If so, then you might be ready for home ownership.
